Crestview Hockey Court

Day 8 and boy it is cold again.  Just a few shots of us bundled up and keep in warm while skating up the street from our house, on the local court.  Great fun.   There are actually hockey courts all over Whitehorse so we have been slowely checking them out.

Birthday Lunch....all for me!

Day 7 and Happy Birthday to me.  This photo is of my new co-workers. (All but Leon...who did not come out for lunch.)  We have Denise, Josh, Brad, Darrell and I.  I was craving a BLT so we went to a local watering hole called the High Country Inn, which actually converts to an outdoor patio pub in the summer.  That was a nice suprise to find that in whitehorse.

Oh to be a cat!

Day 6.  Well it was late in the evening and Buddy was already hunkered down for the night.  When I entered the room he reluctantly turned his head to allow me to get this shot of him...but...he refused to open his eyes or crack a smile.   Regardless....He is so handsome.

It was a very busy night...so the opportunities to take a picture were slim to none.  Sooo.....in the end I decided to just work on lighting and focusing....and voila.  Day 4.

Now....on Day 5.    I came home to Buddy the cat...and my husband watching the Canadian Junior hockey team on the verge of losing to the Russians.  I just missed catching Buddy looking at the TV...but a great shot of the moment.

relaxing

Just enjoying some candlelight.....before heading back to the doldrums of the rest of the week.

Just live it!!!

This particular day Brad and I took a drive to visit some friends in Haines Junction.  Their 13 year old dog, Chelsea was there to greet us.  Despite her age...and her arthiritis......she came out on the lake with us while we went snowshoeing....knowing full well.....that her romp in the snow....would physically haunt her later.  Her motto....and mine....life is for living...and so just go DO IT!

Well in order to start on time and on schedule I chose to fool around with some low lighting and my unruly DSLR.  I love the idea of a digital camera...but really do not enjoy learning how to use it.  I am hoping with the frequency that I will be taking pictures that the quality will improve and I will learn to love my camera as much as I love chocolate.
